Laura Solow

Laura graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in theatre and dance and performed for several years in the theatre world. Her dance credits include the movie “Saturday Night Fever" with John Travolta. She further studied dance and mime in Paris, France.

In 2007 she was the first to create a Zumba program in Mamaroneck, New York, which quickly expanded due to her popularity, and has recently been published as the “Best of Westchester” in the Westchester Magazine. Her classes have also been featured in The Journal News, and The Larchmont Loop.

Laura’s students range in ages from 7 to 93. She has held workshops for everyone from the NYPD kids to the seniors at the Osborn home in Rye, and her volunteer work includes Gilda’s Club in White Plains. She has taught Zumba at PepsiCo Corporation, Swiss Re Corporation, and is currently on staff in the dance department for the JCC in Scarsdale.

Laura says, “The main reason the classes are so successful is because Zumba is an incredibly fun way to knock off the pounds and stay in shape without feeling like you are exercising!” Although she very much acknowledges the creator of Zumba, Beto Perez, and expresses eternal gratitude to him and his talented staff, by observation part of her success is that she creates a friendly, non-competitive environment that makes newcomers and seasoned students feel comfortable and relaxed, as well as giving them a good workout.

Continually working to improve her classes and to offer something that is not “assembly line,” Laura has a live drummer for most of her classes.

Her intentions are to keep her prices affordable for everybody, and figuring that the price includes a live drummer, you can’t beat that!

Lisa DiZenzo
Lisa's interest in dance and fitness started in high school where she was appointed head cheerleading coach. Her duties included choreographing dance routines for a squad of 20 girls. She has been involved in fitness and dance ever since.

While searching for a fitness class, she saw Laura’s Zumba class schedule in Blockbuster and immediately signed up. She described it as “great fun” and “one big party!"

She loved it so much that in 2007 she made it her second career. She is a now a manager for a financial data marketing company as well as a Zumba Instructor.

She has taught Zumba Kids, Zumba Gold and regular Zumba classes as well as performing at special local Zumba festivals with Laura and Debra.

Lisa says, "I would suggest everyone take Laura's class and join the party!"

Debra Nicastro
was actually with Lisa the day they saw Laura's Zumba flyer in blockbuster. She had been looking for a dance inspired fitness class and literally stole the flyer off the board.

Being long-time, inseparable best friends, Debra worked with Lisa as the head of the cheerleading squad and did the choreography. She currently works as a Project Manager in the same company as Lisa.

Debra has taken fitness and dance classes all of her life and Zumba was a perfect vehicle for a second career. She became a Zumba instructor in 2007. Debra has taught Zumba Gold, Zumba kids and regular Zumba classes as well as performing in the local festivals with Lisa and Laura.

Debra says she loves Zumba "because it works virtually every part of your body. You don't realize the hour has flown by."

She says, "Come join us, you won't regret it."
